Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter for Sale

UPDATE #2: The auction ended at a total of $35. Betcha wish your interest was higher now.

UPDATE: Since apparently nobody is interested, I have now put it up for auction on eBay.

Because of my recent upgrade of my copy of Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter for Saturn, I am putting my incomplete copy up for sale here. This copy includes the jewel case, game disc (has minor scratches), and back cover. Not included is the manual and spine card. I have played this copy many times and it works perfectly fine. I am asking $25 for it, which includes shipping. If anyone is interested, drop me a PM.

Most Anticipated for the Rest of 2006

Here is the list of games that I am most anticipating for the remainder of 2006.

1. Okami
This looks like such a great game with the unique visuals combined with unique gameplay elements and my interest in Japanese mythology makes this my most anticipated game for 2006.

2. God Hand
I am still looking for a game that can successfully bring the beat-’em-up genre into 3D and do it well. This game seems to have a great sense of humor along with some awesome Hokuto no Ken-like action that will make it great.

3. Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII
At first, I wasn’t very thrilled about this game with what I was hearing regarding the import version, but since then, it has been looking much better. At E3, there were announcements made that outlined the significant changes that were going to be implemented for the North American localization that all sounded like it was a vast improvment over the Japanese version. I hope it will be as good as it sounds!

4. Melty Blood: Act Cadenza
Of course, what is a list of games from me if there isn’t a fighting game on it? That’s right, it’s not my list! πŸ˜€ This is the third game in the Melty Blood series and the first to see a console release. The first two, which I own, are PC only and this genre isn’t well suited for PC play, so I am glad to see the newest release on PS2 so I can finally play it as it should be played.

5. Guitar Hero II
It’s Guitar Hero, what more needs to be said?

6. Persona 3
7. Final Fantasy XII
8. Xenosaga Episode III: Also Sprach Zarathustra
I am not normally an RPG player, but these look great and with this being the last year that the PS2 will be by itself as more development time will be going to the PS3, there isn’t a whole lot left. I can certainly enjoy a great RPG every once in awhile and these three look the best.

Pick 5 — the only five you can take with you

1. Street Fighter Alpha Anthology (PS2)
How can you go wrong with seven fighting games in one! Take that limit of five!

2. Military Madness (TG-16)
The grandfather of the turn-based strategy game. One of my all time favorites!

3. Final Fantasy VIII (PS)
My absolute all-time favorite Final Fantasy game. Gotta have at least one Final Fantasy, right?

4. Chrono Cross (PS)
This is my pick for the second RPG shot-in-the-arm, being that it is one of the best RPGs ever made.

5. Guitar Hero (PS2)
Who can even come close to getting bored with this game?

Imports Aplenty

Since I received some money for my birthday earlier in the week, I used it to make a purchase with JapanGameStock. They sell mostly used games and accessories for Dreamcast and earlier systems. Their prices are really good overall and the condition of said items are topnotch! The only thing that I didn’t like was that EMS was the only shipping option available, which is expensive. I picked up four PS1 games and four Saturn games. Here is what I got:

Parappa the Rapper, PS1, mint, complete, $5
I totally loved this game when it was originally released and it still was really fun to play again. A little lacking in gameplay when compared to how the genre has evolved since, but this was the first so what can you expect? The one bad thing about this game is that it is one of the games that are not 100% compatible with the PS2. From what I have played so far, you can play through the game and save and all, but after every level it has a little problem finding the appropiate cinematic to continue with and takes a little while to do it right, otherwise it is fine.

Tobal No. 1, PS1, mint, complete, $5
An underappreciated fighter by Square that was pretty good for a first attempt by them. Most people who bought it at the time, probably did it for the included Final Fantasy VII demo, which my just acquired copy has, but the demo is unplayable on a PS2. I was able to get to the point of just past the first battle with the two guards and that was it, the demo wouldn’t go forward no matter what I did.

Shiritsu! Justice Gakuen: Legion of Heroes, PS1, mint, complete, $10
This is better known as Rival Schools: United by Fate. It is a great fighting game that I had back when it came out, since then sold, and now wanted again. It is very hard to find in North America and I have never seen any copies in stores since 1998 when I originally bought it.

Crash Bandicoot Racing, PS1, mint, complete, $9
Known as Crash Team Racing in North America, this is probably the best Mario Kart-esque racing game outside of the Mario Kart series itself.

Panzer Dragoon, SAT, mint, complete, $4
Panzer Dragoon Zwei, SAT, mint, complete $7
These two games mark my first experience with the Panzer Dragoon series ever. Even with these two being a decade old, they still hold up quite well today. Zwei holds up particularly better than the original, but they both are still entertaining shooters.

Suiko Enbu: Outlaws of the Lost Dynasty, SAT, NM/M, complete, $5
Also known as Dark Legend in North America, which I wasn’t aware of when I was trying to add it to my collection list here. It is a 2D fighter that I picked up only with that knowledge. Since I have played it a bit, it is pretty average and with nothing particularly spectacular about it. Not the worst fighter I have ever played, but nowhere near the best either.

House of the Dead, SAT, EX+, complete, $13
This was one of the games I have been wanting to get for my Saturn collection for some time now. Probably the best light gun game for the Saturn. Good graphics and shooting zombies to bits never gets old!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my birthday and I will be 27 later today at around 3pm EST. Yay for me!

UPDATE: For my birthday, I received two shirts and a pair of shorts, Street Fighter Alpha Anthology, a Pioneer 16x DVD/40x CD burner, two 50 disc packs of DVD+Rs, and money.

I have already used the money to order from JapanGameStock, four Saturn games and four PS1 games. Once I get them, which will probably be next Monday, I’ll let you all know what they are and they will be accompanied by pictures.

Once again, thanks to all who have wished me a happy birthday, it was good, especially the cheesecake, which was requested by me for something different rather than having normal cake.
