This will be the start of a series of blogs I will do to give a bit more deserved coverage to games that are overlooked and/or obscure. These won’t necessarily be games that are new, as I will try to bring some attention to older games of this kind as well. Anyway, on to our first game:
This game is a shoot-’em-up at heart with the structure of a fighting game. You go one-on-one against a single opponent and have various moves, special moves, and even what I would call a super, which the game calls B.O.S.S. Mode, where you transform into a much larger mech that is a lot like a boss in a normal shoot-’em-up. The game is easy to jump into and has well thought out controls that work great. It also has a lot of strategic depth when you get into the nuances of the game, which is easy to do with the included training mode. Best of all, the multiplayer over Xbox Live is flawless and lag free, even when playing against overseas opponents like I have from Japan!
If you are a fan of shoot-’em-ups or just looking for something different to give yourself a break from all of the FPSs that are on the Xbox 360, then look no further.
It’s like a 2D version of Virtual On!
